The SEC this week held a meeting to address the emotion-packed subject of whether short selling should be controlled or restricted. They came up with five different alternatives and you can read the Press Release here. There is a 60 day consultation period where people can contribute their views. I'll revisit this subject in coming days, but for now, I'd like your views on which approach makes the most sense.
So, give me your thoughts!
P.S. I am writing another article for Global Custodian Magazine. I am interested in your thoughts on lessons learned for the securities lending industry as a result of the Lehman default. Please email me your comments at roy@stocklendingtoday.com . Don't be shy - there won't be any names in the article! Thanks for your help.
